Landscape is everywhere. It encompasses the whole of the natural and man-made environment. Besides being one of the most build-up cities in the world, we are fortunate in Hong Kong to have a great variety of landscapes that are stunning in their richness and diversity. These landscapes take many forms and offer different experiences – they define the identity of a city, provides habitats for wildlife and are part of our culture and heritage.

“Hong Kong, Naturally” has focused on a number of natural features that characterise and define the landscape of Hong Kong. Having been born and raised in Hong Kong, I aim to show the tranquillity of oriental landscapes in my collection.

In the collection I have used print processes that consist of digital prints, hand painted fabrics and screen prints. The reason for adding hand painted prints was to create a contrast between digital and handcrafted fabrics to create different fabric surfaces. Using this hand done technique creates a luxurious and sophisticated style in the collection. All the fabrics I have used for screen prints were bought in Hong Kong fabric markets.
